Yoga for MS: Self-Care and Inner Resilience

This 6 week class uses gentle yoga practices adapted to all bodies and movement ranges to focus specifically on the needs of people with Multiple Sclerosis and other neurological challenges.  Using techniques of movement, posture, breath, relaxation and meditation, this practice aims to honor the experience of the whole person. Yoga therapist Deborah King will teach participants to adapt practice for their own unique needs to address symptoms, create more stability in the body and nervous system, and improve self-connection and well-being.

This practice is chair focused, offers chair variations throughout class, and is adaptable to any level of mobility. No experience necessary, all are welcome.

Please note that there are two recurring classes on Tuesday afternoons also geared towards people with M.S. and other neurological challenges. You can investigate them here.

Offered in partnership with The MS Center at Swedish Neuroscience Institute. Generous support for the initiation of this program in 2020 was provided by the Jonathan P. Schwartz Teaching for Diversity Fund at the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health.
