RE-Growing Our Wings: Yoga Therapy for People Healing From Interpersonal Trauma

This online, 8 week workshop is an expanded version of the previous Re-Growing Our Wings series.

This workshop is a therapeutic yoga workshop designed for people healing from trauma, especially those who may be new to working with their bodies.

Yoga is not about parts of you- it is about you as an inherently whole being.

The world “healing” is used as a way of accessing and feeling that wholeness, not about “fixing” you.

This workshop is not about poses or breathing or even about meditation or relaxation, although we will do all of those things.

This workshop is about you, and how to use these techniques to serve your unique being, which holds your history, your present, and your dreamt future in the ways your responses to events in your life impact the way you feel in the world.

“Trauma is not only what happened to us; rather, it is what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic, fully present witness.”

—— Dr Peter Levine, Founder of Somatic Experiencing

Trauma is a process of your system adapting to overwhelm. While symptoms of trauma are unquestionably challenging, they developed out of the life force your body survived with. As such, they must be approached with respect, self-compassion, and great gentleness as you bring yourself back to a place of embodiment.

This is a gradual process. So as we work, I will teach you first and foremost about reading your own body system's messages and ways to anchor by adapting movement, breath, and focus to create the experience of connection in your nervous system.

We will work progressively for 8 weeks.
