Healing the Center: reawakening & reconnecting the deep core
The center of the body is created to function as your personal gravity. For many of us, events, injuries, trauma, and/ or chronic stress create challenges in the pelvic floor and core connection that can create not only to pelvic floor dysfunction but also back, hip, knee, and foot issues, abdominal separation (Diastasis) and even neck pain.
Often, we are advised to simply strengthen the muscles- but chronic tension and tightness is as much a contributing factor as weakness.
This workshop will address healing the center of the body from the unified, whole person approach of yoga’s mind- body perspective.
This class will help your reconnection to the core support of the body on all levels- physical, mental, energetic, and emotional.
Each week will have a slightly different focus, in the arc I use in yoga therapy: Awareness, Softening, Strengthening, Range of Motion.
Week 1-Awareness of the Internal Channel: connection, witnessing sensation, and learning the tools of somatic movement
Week 2- Softening into Strength: adding the tools of restorative yoga
Week 3: Personal Gravity: connecting the midline and sourcing strength
Week 4: The Joy of Movement: range of motion and self- trust
All bodies, all levels welcome. No experience necessary.
