Rising Heart: Ongoing Trauma-Sensitive Gentle/Restorative Yoga (by donation)

Thank you to all of you who reached out after my ReGrowing Our Wings workshops asking for an ongoing practice. This class will build on the tools we use in the workshops, in a less structured, more practice- focused way, providing a space for you to restore, renew, and heal in these complicated times. Please contact me to register. These classes are by donation, and all are welcome, regardless of ability to pay, mobility or experience.

In Restorative Yoga, the body is supported by props to help bring us to a place of deep rest.

Many of us who have experienced trauma have a complicated relationship with stillness. It is tremendously important not to force this stillness, but to invite it when it feels nurturing.

One way to do that is to offer yourself movement options. When you start learning to work with these, and to read the messages of your body, you will find you are able to bring them into your life. Gradually you will find yourself able to enter deeper states of relaxation without feeling triggered, and able to feel more resilient in the face of stressors. It is crucial that you approach this work leading with self-compassion. The most important part of this work is that you can learn to witness your own wholeness, and that means appreciating the needs that arise as valid, trusting your instincts, and doing what you need to care for yourself.

Wednesdays at 10amPST.
